PHOENIX — The names Charizard, Squirtle and Pikachu will be flying around Chase Field this weekend, but they will not have anything to do with some new baseball players being recalled from the minors.

The Arizona Diamondbacks are the latest organization to jump on the “Pokemon Go” app craze.

The team is hosting an event focused on the wildly popular game prior to Saturday’s matchup against the Milwaukee Brewers.

During the event, the team said it will drop “lures” in the game that will attract a bunch of virtual monsters to the stadium.

The game is scheduled to begin at 5:10 p.m., but because of the “Pokemon Go” event — and the fact that the team will also give away 20,000 Zach Greinke bobbleheads — fans are encouraged to arrive early.

Gates will open at 3 p.m. and the lures will be dropped about the same time, though the Pokemon hunt will take place in the Gila River Casinos Plaza outside of Chase Field.

The weather should not be a concern on Saturday. Though the city has been pounded by monsoon storms this week, the National Weather Service is calling for sunny skies with a high of 106 degrees and a slight breeze.

We want to hear from you.
