Man jailed for posing as Chicago police officer

Nov 8, 2013, 7:56 AM

CHICAGO (AP) – A Chicago man who as a 14-year-old fooled police into letting him drive a squad car has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for posing as an officer again.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports (

Richardson showed his driver’s license and was arrested after a store employee looked up his name on the Internet. The worker realized he was the same person who impersonated an officer as a teen.

In 2009, Richardson walked into a police station dressed as an officer, went on patrol and even helped with an arrest. The incident was highly embarrassing for the Chicago Police Department.
