The Arizona Department of Transportation announced Wednesday there will be no state highway construction closures from July 1 to the evening of July 4.
Instead, ADOT will be putting their efforts towards preventing traffic from building up, placing equipment and resources on busy highway locations.
The three areas that will have those resources in place are the Interstate 17 between north Phoenix and Flagstaff, Interstate 10 between Phoenix and Tucson, and State Route 87 between Mesa and Payson
While there will be no closures, ADOT does want drivers to be aware of restrictions already in place.
There will also be an increased presence of officers “targeting impairment and dangerous driving behaviors” according to ADOT.
