Police say the woman was holding something in a blanket that initially was thought to be a baby but more likely was the family’s Chihuahua.
The victims are believed to be a father in his 50s and daughter in her 30s who lived in a mobile home in a rural area south of Kansas City.
The bodies have not been recovered.
