A Michigan mother took to Facebook last week to voice the heartbreak she felt when she saw her 3-year-old daughter practicing what she learned to do for a lockdown drill.
The girl was standing on a toilet, just like her preschool had taught her to do if she was ever in a bathroom during a lockdown situation.
Her mother, Stacey Feeley, was devastated that at 3 years old, she was learning just how unsafe she is in a world of mass shootings.
“Politicians – take a look,” her post, which included a picture of her daughter standing on the toilet, read. “This is your child, your children, your grandchildren, your great grand children and future generations to come. They will live their lives and grow up in this world based on your decisions.”
“No one thinks gun control will be 100 percent crime control,” she continues. “But maybe, just maybe, it helps 1 percent or 2 percent or 50 percent? Who knows unless we try?”
The post has gotten over 38,000 shares, 5,000 comments and 46,000 likes and reactions.
