Main Street Minute: Ford recruiting from ASU, sub shop opens new location

• A medical technology manufacturer is opening a facility in Mesa. Dexcom of San Diego is taking over a 215,000-square-foot building near Dobson Road and the Loop 101. The Phoenix Business Journal reports it will bring at least 500 jobs here.
• Ford is turning to Arizona State University for top engineering and business minds. That means ASU has joined the likes of MIT, Notre Dame and Purdue as one of Ford’s premier schools for recruiting and hiring. More than three dozen corporations have elevated ASU to an elite designation in recruiting.
• Firehouse Subs has just opened a new West Valley store by 59th Avenue and Thunderbird Road in Glendale. The sandwich chain has more than two dozen stores in the Valley, with a couple more scheduled to open soon.
