KTAR’s Main Street Minute focuses on local businesses that are hiring, opening and hosting events across the community. These stories air each weekday at 7:23 a.m.
• Air Serv is looking for guest service agents, baggage handlers, coordinators and supervisors for its location at Sky Harbor Airport. The hiring event runs Thursday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton near 44th and Van Buren streets.
• There’s also a job fair Thursday for veterans from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Talking Stick Resort Arena. Anyone who’s served on active duty, in the reserves, or in the National Guard is welcome to attend. Spouses are also welcome. U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Freeport-McMoRan, the Nevada Department of Public Safety and Lockheed Martin are among the companies that will be on hand.
• A new thrift shop that hopes to put a dent in homelessness is opening in the Valley. Belongings will feature home decor, antiques, furniture and art work, as well as offer job training to those in crisis. The grand opening is Thursday at 9 a.m. near 32nd and Van Buren streets.
