Here’s what I learned from this crazy primary season

Now that the RNC and DNC have both crowned their respective nominees…I find myself asking the same question I ask my kids every day after school.

So, what did ya learn?

I think above crazy and decisive…this primary season has been educational. It’s been one civics lesson after another.

Here’s what I mean…

Do you remember the days when we all felt that our right to vote in a primary was a protected right?

Well, this primary season has taught us the hard truth that the two sides are running the show any way they so choose. They can, they are and they will until they see THEIR desired outcome.

Bottom line…we don’t have a protected right to have a say in THEIR candidate selection process. They make the rules and can change them at any time.

And how about this contested convention nonsense? Once again, both parties announcing that the true will of the people does not matter in the selection of THEIR candidate.

The coolest civics lesson that I took from this mess came from the threats of a third party power player. Look, Gary Johnson might make some waves but let’s not hold our breath for his swearing in ceremony.

Now, if the R’s or the D’s field a candidate other than Donald or Hillary and that candidate carries a few states (if it’s a strong enough candidate like a Romney or Sanders), that could leave BOTH Hillary AND Donald short of the needed electoral votes for White House.

In that case, the House of Representatives will select your next President and Senate will tap the VP.

Check THAT noise out…a fun fact out of the primary madness!

I will wrap up with the sad truth that came from this primary season. The good thing is that I don’t need to go into great detail to make my point.

Here goes:

Ladies and Gentlemen, the RNC and DNC have convinced us that Hillary R Clinton and Donald J Trump are THE two most qualified US citizens to run this great nation!

I have a headache!
