For over 30 years, Muhammad Ali was engaged in the biggest fight of his life. A fight he couldn’t put on a pair of gloves and swing away. His fight with Parkinson’s disease.
Sadly, he lost that fight on Friday when he died at 74.
But while Ali is remembered as one of the greatest boxers of all-time and how he championed different causes out of the boxing ring, his greatest legacy could be his final fight — the fight with Parkinson’s.
In a video released by the Barrow Neurological Institute, patients at the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center talk about the inspiration and impact his fight has had on them.
The Parkinson Center has been a major beneficiary of the annual Celebrity Fight Night. The star-studded event annually attracts celebrities and professional athletes from across the country for a night of live auction items and musical performances.
In the event’s 22 year history, the fight night has raised over $118 million for the center and other charities.
