Phoenix temperature reaches record highs on Saturday and Sunday

The National Weather Service said the temperature in Phoenix has reached a record-breaking 115 degrees on Saturday, breaking the record of 113 degrees set in 1990.

Phoenix didn’t hit 115 degrees last year until June 18, so the heat is settling in early this year.
The hottest day ever in Phoenix also occurred in 1990 on June 26 when the temperature reached a blistering 122 degrees.
The heat didn’t stop there on the weekend. On Sunday, it reached 113 degrees in Phoenix, topping the previous record high for June 5 of 112 degrees in 1990.

Although we hope Phoenix doesn’t decide to break that record, an excessive heat warning was issued by the National Weather Service on Friday, reminding people to be extremely careful this weekend.
