BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) – The former teen pageant princess who appeared on the reality show “Wife Swap” has pleaded not guilty to prostitution and drug possession charges in western New York.
Alicia Guastaferro (guss-tuh-FEHR’-oh) didn’t say anything during the appearance in Pembroke Town Court on Tuesday and declined to comment to reporters afterward.
The 21-year-old Guastaferro was arrested at a New York Thruway travel plaza in August. Court documents say she told state troopers the Rochester attorney she was with, James Doyle, paid her as much as $700 twice a month to spend the night and have sex.
Doyle also faces charges. He denies the allegations.
Guastaferro and ABC settled a lawsuit last year over the “Wife Swap” episode. She claimed its unfair portrayal of a spoiled 15-year-old made her a target of ridicule.
