Main Street Minute: Fired Pie offering discount and police department hiring

KTAR’s Main Street Minute focuses on local businesses that are hiring, opening and hosting events across the community. These stories air each weekday at 7:23 a.m.

• The Gilbert Police Department is accepting applications for several openings. The police department has stepped up recruitment efforts and is also providing information about other positions such as 9-1-1 dispatchers and crime prevention specialists.

• Brock Supply Company is hosting a job fair Thursday. It runs from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at its offices near Price Road and Rio Salado Parkway in Tempe. The auto parts and supply company is looking for a receptionist, recruiter, warehouse manager, inside sales representative and customer service supervisor.

• Fired Pie is offering 20 percent off pizza or salad at its downtown Phoenix location to celebrate Comicon. The discount runs through Sunday, and applies to anyone who walks into the pizza joint near Second and Washington streets in costume, or says “Comicon” at checkout.
