Friend says suspect didn’t study but still got A’s

LOS ANGELES (AP) – A California man who has known the suspect in the Colorado movie theater shooting for more than a decade says that in high school, he liked to play cards and video games.

Twenty-four-year-old Ritchie Duong told the Los Angeles Times they also both attended undergraduate school at the University of California, Riverside, where they saw each other once a week to watch “Lost.”

They last met in December for dinner and a movie. Duong says Holmes seemed fine.

Duong says academics came easily to Holmes both at high school and at the UC Riverside. Duong says he remembers that in one college class they had together, Holmes didn’t take notes but would just sit through class and always got an A.
