LOS ANGELES (AP) – The Los Angeles County Coroner’s office says body parts found on a south Los Angeles sidewalk are not human.

Coroner’s spokesman Craig Harvey says the organs were examined and confirmed Tuesday they were not human.

He did not say what kind of animal they might have belonged to or how they might have gotten on the sidewalk.

Sheriff’s deputies were called by a citizen who found the organs _ described as something that looked like lungs _ in an unincorporated area of the city on Sunday.

Deputies called the coroner’s office.
