May Auto Sales: Subaru sales jump 48 percent

CHERRY HILL, N.J. (AP) – Subaru of America Inc. said Friday that its May sales jumped 48 percent from a year on sharply higher sales of the Impreza.
BY THE NUMBERS: Subaru sold 29,724 vehicles last month, compared with 20,036 in May 2011. So far in 2012, U.S. sales are up 22 percent.
TOP SELLER: The company sold 9,192 copies of the Outback, up 9 percent from a year ago.
HOT MODELS: Sales of the Impreza more than tripled to 6,786 from 2,021 in May 2011, and sales of the Impreza WRX were 1,525, up from 589.
