ORANGE, Calif. (AP) – Flamboyant former NBA star Dennis Rodman is due in a California court to be sentenced on four counts of contempt for failing to pay child support.
The retired professional basketball player is expected to be sentenced Tuesday during a hearing in family court in Orange County.
Mary Ann Noiroux, an attorney for Rodman’s ex-wife Michelle, says he will likely face a sentence of community service. Noiroux says Rodman could also be ordered to pay more than $800,000 in back child support.
Rodman’s now-ex-wife filed for divorce in 2004. They have two children.
Rodman was found guilty of four counts of contempt last year for child support owed in 2009 and 2010.
Rodman’s attorney, Linnea Willis, did not return a call for comment.
