Battle over Beverly Hills subway goes Hollywood

LOS ANGELES (AP) – Los Angeles County transportation officials could approve a plan Thursday to send a subway under Beverly Hills High School against the objections of many residents.
But the fight has spawned a pair of warring videos that are getting wide attention.
One is a virtual disaster movie, produced by Beverly Hills parents worried about student safety, showing teens on campus paired with images of flames and explosions.
The other is a pro-subway satire that suggests opposing residents are backward-looking hicks who fear progress.
Even if the route is approved, the dispute is likely to continue in court and viral media.
