POTLATCH, Idaho (AP) – The town of Potlatch, Idaho, was once home to the nation’s largest white pine sawmill, but wants to be reborn as a gun town.
Business leaders are actively seeking firearms and ammunition manufacturers to breathe new life into Potlatch.
They figure Idaho’s low taxes and gun-friendly culture will be the main lures, along with the construction-ready site of the old Potlatch sawmill.
In addition to gun makers, the future vision for the town of 800 residents extends to hunting-themed shops and residential developments for outdoors enthusiasts.
