LOS ANGELES (AP) – Length of the Riot: Three days (beginning April 29, 1992).
Number of people killed: 55.
Number of injuries reported: 2,325.
Number of buildings destroyed or damaged: 1,573, including more than 200 liquor stores.
Total estimated cost of the riot: $1 billion, including $735 million in property damage.
Areas Touched by the Riot: Scattered areas of Los Angeles from the South Side to the suburban San Fernando Valley, parts of downtown and midtown.
Adjacent Areas Touched by the Riot: The cities of Compton, Inglewood, Long Beach and Lynwood, as well as unincorporated sections of Los Angeles County.
