NJ ex-trooper get probation for high-speed escort

May 13, 2013, 3:25 PM

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) – A judge has sentenced a former New Jersey state trooper who led a high-speed escort of luxury sports cars to one year of probation.

The judge on Monday also ordered former Sgt. First Class Nadir Nassry to perform 75 hours of community service.

The 48-year-old Phillipsburg resident forfeited his job when he pleaded guilty to falsifying or tampering with records. The 26-year veteran admitted he used tape to change the license plate of his patrol vehicle to conceal his participation in last year’s convoy to Atlantic City, reaching speeds of 100 mph.

Another trooper who assisted also has forfeited his job and is awaiting enrollment in a court program that could lead to a record tampering charge being erased.
