Pa. woman sentenced for foreclosure notice arson

Apr 23, 2012, 4:00 PM

CORRY, Pa. (AP) – A northwestern Pennsylvania woman will spend 10 years on probation for attempting suicide by setting fire to her home with a foreclosure notice.

The Erie Times-News (

Police say Shreve’s estranged husband told officers his wife acknowledged setting the fire to her home in Corry on March 18, 2011.

Crews rescued Shreve and her son after finding her unresponsive from sleeping pills and also determined that she had cut her wrist.

She had faced up to 22 years in prison before Monday’s sentencing.
