(AP) – The husband of one of the victims in the fatal California college shooting says his wife and other classmates had lived in fear of the suspect.

Efanye Chibuko’s wife, Doris Chibuko, was one of seven people killed when a gunman opened fired into classrooms at Oikos University in Oakland. Police have arrested former nursing student One Goh.

Chibuko told The Associated Press on Wednesday that his wife told him Goh was verbally abusive toward students and administrators and once kicked walls in anger.

He says his wife felt Goh was unstable and “was afraid he would do something like he did.”

Chibuko says he’s angry that school officials didn’t do more to protect the students.

Doris Chibuko, a native of Nigeria, was the president of her class at Oikos.
