NEW YORK (AP) – The New York City medical examiner says a French scholar whose body was found in a Manhattan hotel room died of natural causes.
A medical examiner spokeswoman said Wednesday that tests showed that Richard Descoings (day-KWAHNGZ’) had a fatal heart attack.
The 53-year-old’s naked body was found in April in the seventh-floor room at the Michelangelo hotel.
At the time, police discovered a laptop and cellphone believed to have belonged to Descoings on a third-floor ledge. But they also said there were no clear signs of foul play.
Descoings was director of the Paris Institute of Political Studies, better known in France as Sciences Po.
