OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) – Police investigating a deadly shooting rampage at a Northern California college are searching a nearby waterway for the weapon used by the gunman.
Police spokeswoman Officer Johnna Watson says the suspect, 43-year-old One Goh, is refusing to say where the semiautomatic handgun was left after Monday’s attack at Oikos University.
Authorities say he is cooperating in other ways and has discussed the motive.
Watson says the investigation has led police to the shoreline of San Leandro Bay, less than a mile from the school. Sonar equipment is being used for the search.
Meanwhile, the university remained cordoned off as investigators comb the building for evidence.
Seven people were killed and three others wounded.
Goh is being held without bail on suspicion of murder, attempted murder, kidnapping and carjacking.
