Prankster calls in sick to a company he doesn’t work at

Apr 22, 2016, 5:07 AM

Many of us have called out of work for some reason or another, whether it be a surprise visit from an out-of-town friend or just need a day away from the desk. But this Canadian fellow, who goes by CanadianChestHair on Youtube, did it just for kicks.

Sitting in a car with a buddy, he calls up (what we’re guessing is) a department store to call out of work the next day.

The only problem: he doesn’t work there.

The inevitably awkward conversation starts out “Hi this is Jordan calling, I just started there last week and it’s like really nice and stuff and some of the boys are going out fishing tomorrow so I’m not going to be able to make it in for my shift.”

The woman on the other end, who identifies only as Sylvia seems not to believe her ears, and presses “Jordan” for more details.

Then she learns that she is the supervisor of the department that “Jordan” purported to work in, and advises him that if he doesn’t come in, he’ll receive a “first-level written discipline.”

The prankster then asks: “So I won’t be able to go fishing?”

The manager responds: “No, you can’t go fishing,” before adding: “You’re not looking very good to me right now.”

A Redditor who goes by Chillaxbro said in a comment “He has that ‘I’m young and I don’t really care about real life just yet… but I know I probably should’ sound in his voice down to a T.”

That he does, Chillaxbro. That might be why Sylvia bought his fishing tale hook line and sinker.
