PHOENIX (AP) – Authorities are warning motorists in southern Arizona that high winds forecast for Tuesday could stir up dust and could lessen visibility.
The National Weather Service issued a high wind advisory for Tuesday.
The high winds could affect travel for motorists on roadways such as interstates 8 and 10.
Northern Arizona also is expected to see high winds, though not as strong as those forecast for the southern part of the state.
Officials say drivers should take precautions when experiencing lessened visibility due to blowing dust.
Those steps include pulling over off the roadway, staying in vehicles, turning off all vehicle lights, setting emergency brakes and taking their feet off the brakes until the storm passes.
