NEWARK, N.J. (AP) – Passengers report some frightening moments when a commuter jet landed without its nose landing gear extended at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey.
The Federal Aviation Administration says the United Express flight from Atlanta was able to safely use its main landing gear and slid about 200 feet on its nose before coming to a stop.
The emergency landing occurred shortly before 6:30 p.m. Monday, forcing the airport to shut down for about an hour.
No injuries were reported.
