ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) – A New York woman has pleaded guilty in the deaths of four of her children, who died in a blaze started when she set fire to pictures of her boyfriend.
Thirty-one-year-old Bobbie Kugler pleaded guilty Friday morning in Monroe County Court to felony counts of manslaughter, assault and arson.
In exchange for the plea, prosecutors dropped four murder counts. Officials say she’ll be sentenced Jan. 22 to seven to 15 years in prison.
Police said Kugler told investigators the Feb. 18 blaze at the family’s Rochester home started when she torched her boyfriend’s pictures and tossed them onto a dresser filled with combustible materials.
The fire killed 14-year-old Gage Reavey; 13-year-old Greg Kugler; 12-year-old Kandee Kugler; and 6-year-old Kaiden Kugler.
