Colorado’s Loveland Ski Area holds mass wedding

Feb 14, 2012, 11:04 PM

GEORGETOWN, Colo. (AP) – Dozens of couples donned ski goggles, winter coats, and skis or snowboards to mark Valentine’s Day by saying “I do” during a mass mountaintop ceremony at Colorado’s Loveland Ski Area.

Resort spokesman John Sellers says 60 couples either got married or renewed their vows at Loveland’s 21st annual mountaintop matrimony ceremony and reception Tuesday. He says about 15 of those couples are newlyweds.

The couples rode a chairlift up the mountain and then skied or snowboarded down the mountain for a party with cake and music.

A few women added veils to their helmets or hats, and some carved turns down the mountain wearing gowns as a few snowflakes fell.
