PHOENIX — The foundations are built, each brick is in place, every attraction locked in and ready to go.
All that’s left is for Legoland to open its doors to thousands of Arizonans looking for family fun.
Legoland Discovery Center Arizona will open at Arizona Mills on Friday, April 22, offering wonder, excitement, and air conditioning to families looking to “get their block on” this summer.
“It’s kind of like a taste of Legoland California, but for our region” said Master Model Builder Alec Posta. “Get out of the heat, it’s a great destination.”
Posta got his “dream job” after beating out 120 other applicants in a building competition last year. He’ll be making models at Legoland Arizona daily, and invites Lego fans to say “hi” and check out whatever he’s working on.
The center features an Arizona themed “Miniland,” with scores of miniature Arizona landmarks and buildings. Don’t miss the miniature Phoenix Sky Harbor, which took three months and over 1 million Legos to build.
Legoland Arizona also features two indoor rides, a 4-D cinema with two films playing throughout the day, and a Master Model Building class.
The center was built for kids age 3-10, but will also include “adult nights.” Tickets for children three or older are $22, and annual passes are available for $65.
Legoland Arizona expects to sell out for the first few months they are open and recommend that you get your tickets online ahead of time.
