PHOENIX — Travel research site Gogobot named Scottsdale the No.4 best mid-size city for millennials.
The company chose cities that millenials (defined as those born after 1982) both live and vacation in. Gogobot based the rankings on the number of star ratings and reviews made by the generation, as well as the number of millennial-friendly restaurants and attractions available – such as craft breweries, gourmet burger joints, music venues and hiking trails.
Scottsdale came in fourth, with New Orleans taking the gold medal.
“Old Town Scottsdale has a lot going on that is, decidedly, not old. In fact, its food, nightlife, and shopping options, as well as the many festivals that take place there, are perfect for a millennial crowd on the lookout for all things new and trendy,”Gogobot said in a release.
The travel website cites Scottsdale’s art and wine scenes, as well as the city’s accessibility to outdoor activities as a great city for young people.
Millennials into the art scene can check out ArtWalk every Thursday, where each Old Town gallery is open to the public.
Those with a penchant for partying can check out wine bars such as 5th and Wine, or come to a pool party at Club Maya to hear DJs.
Scottsdale’s easy access to hiking favorites like the McDowell Sonoran Preserve and the Cholla Trail offers hikers of all ages gorgeous springtime desert scenery.
