WalletHub: Arizona’s taxpayer ROI ranked No. 19 in country

Arizona is ranked No. 19 in the country for a taxpayer’s return on investment according to WalletHub.
The site’s findings used 20 different metrics and were the product of “contrasting state and local tax rates with the quality of the services provided within the following five categories: Education, Health, Safety, Economy, and Infrastructure & Pollution” according to WalletHub.
In those categories, Arizona had some poor rankings. Arizona ranked in the bottom fifth of the education, safety and economy categories.
These scores were used as weighted averages across the five categories.
The state ranks ninth in total taxes per capita, but fall back to No. 43 in overall government services.
New Hampshire ranked first on the list and was followed by South Dakota at No. 2 and Colorado in third.
North Dakota ranked last, trailing Alaska at No. 49 and Hawaii at No. 48.
