PHOENIX — Nook Kitchen, the second location of a popular Arcadia eatery, opened its doors Wednesday at the base of the Hilton Garden Inn in downtown Phoenix.

The kitchen is led by chef and co-owner Nick LaRosa, who serves up dishes made with fresh ingredients, such as their Neopolitan-style pizza topped with hand-pulled mozzarella. The menu also features an array of creative bruschettas and classics such as pasta bolognese and Shrimp Fra Diavola.

“We are incredibly excited to bring Nook Kitchen to the Downtown Phoenix market and are looking forward to contributing to the growth of the neighborhood,” said owner Frank Vairo in a press release.

The swanky, new restaurant and bar feature art deco aesthetics, boasting 19-foot-high floor-to-ceiling windows and an impressive octagonal marble bar.

Built-in chargers and power outlets below the bar benefit anyone out of juice and on the move.

“It’s comfortable, but upscale – hip but not pretentious,” said Vairo in the same release.

Located at 15 E. Monroe Street across from Valley Bar and Seamus McCaffrey’s, Nook is the “anchor restaurant” to the newly restored hotel that that opened December 2015.

The new eatery and hotel reside in the restored Professional Building, which was built in 1931.

Nook Kitchen Downtown is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

The upscale pizza joint also provides food to-order for all 170 rooms at the Hilton Garden Inn Phoenix Downtown.
