Police interview survivor of Conn. Christmas fire

STAMFORD, Conn. (AP) – Investigators have interviewed a New York City advertising executive whose three daughters and parents died in a Christmas morning fire at her Connecticut home.
Stamford police Sgt. Paul Guzda says police interviewed Madonna Badger on Thursday night. He won’t disclose details.
Badger and her friend Michael Borcina escaped the fire, which destroyed the $1.7 million Victorian home.
Borcina is a contractor who had been renovating the five-bedroom house. Guzda says police plan to interview Borcina soon.
Officials want to determine whether the house had working smoke detectors. They say the fire was started by embers in a bag of discarded fireplace ashes.
The fire killed 7-year-old twins Grace and Sarah Badger, 9-year-old Lily Badger and grandparents Lomer and Pauline Johnson.
Lomer Johnson was a department store Santa Claus who had worked as safety director for a Louisville, Ky., company.
