“They thought they were going home for the night when the suspect approached them with a hoodie on and a mask and armed with a gun.”

Phoenix Police Sgt. Steve Reaume is talking about the terrifying armed robbery of a jewelry store near Cactus Road and Tatum Boulevard in north Phoenix. It happened Dec. 1, 2020, just after 8 p.m. It was closing time and the employees were walking out.

“The suspect approached them and forced them back inside the store,” Sgt. Reaume says.

The man demanded jewelry from the display cases and the safe and had them put it in a black trash bag. He fled in a dark-colored four-door vehicle. The suspect is described in his 20s, 6 feet, 2 inches tall and weighs 185 pounds.

Reaume says he possibly has acne scars on his upper cheeks and was wearing a gray hoodie with a black beanie hat.

Our next suspect threw a tantrum when things didn’t go exactly as planned. He went into a cellphone store at 37th Avenue and McDowell in Phoenix on Nov. 14, 2020. It was midmorning.

“The suspect starts browsing the store and attempts to remove several phones from the display case.”

But, Reaume says, when the guy tried to steal the phones and realized they were connected to the display, he got frustrated.

“Throwing the display down and damaging it and taking a portion of the display, which was attached to the phone, out the door.”

That’s when a couple of employees confronted him.

“And a struggle ensued and the suspect pulled out a knife and cut one of the victims in the head,” Reaume says. “He attempted to stab the second one.”

The suspect is around 25 years old, is 5-foot-7 and weighs 180 pounds. He was wearing a unique black hoodie covered in gray stars.
