Arizona's Morning News

Start your morning off right with Arizona’s Morning News with Jim and Jayme. You’ll be informed with the very latest on what’s going on in the Valley, Arizona, nation and throughout the world. Jim and Jayme are native Arizonans with more than 40+ years of local news coverage and six combined AP reporter of the year awards.

Jim Sharpe

Jim Sharpe has worked in and around the media since he was an Arizona high school student. He’s been a talk show host, a program director, a media liaison and consultant for political campaigns, and an award-winning journalist (including being awarded Reporter of the Year). He’s worked in major markets like Los Angeles and tiny towns like Page, Arizona. And in far-flung places like Iraq: where, as an embedded reporter during Operation Iraqi Freedom, he survived a roadside bombing while on a U.S. Army patrol north of Baghdad. You can hear Arizona’s Morning News weekdays from 5-8 a.m.

Jayme West

Jayme West is co-host of Arizona’s Morning News. Since 1996, when Jayme joined the KTAR News team, she’s covered some of the biggest local, national and international stories including accompanying Arizona Firefighters to Ground Zero after the 9-11 attacks and spending a year embedded with Phoenix PD’s Homicide Unit. She’s also been profiling unsolved crimes with Silent Witness on KTAR for more than 20 years. Jayme has won numerous Journalism awards and was named the AP’s Reporter of the Year in Arizona 5 times. She also supports and is involved with several local charities. Jayme and her husband are both Arizona natives, enjoy spoiling their only “child” (a cat named Gracie) and spending time at the family cabin in Strawberry. You can hear Arizona’s Morning News weekdays from 5-8 a.m.
