The Chris and Joe Show is a smart, fun and locally focused show where we want to explore why things are happening and why we feel the way we do about them.
Chris Merrill
Chris Merrill is one half of The Chris and Joe Show. Chris is a Michigan native who first came to Arizona in 2002 for a girl. Now, 22 years later, Chris, and the girl, now his wife, are back in the Valley. Chris is a 25-year radio veteran with stints in Kansas City, San Diego, San Francisco, Los Angeles and, of course, Phoenix. He’s committed to smart and fun radio and shies away from rote left vs right topics. When he’s not enjoying the blistering heat of Arizona you’ll catch him suffering through the mild summers with his family in Northern Michigan.
Joe Huizenga
Joe Huizenga is the other half of The Chris and Joe Show and KTAR News’ Assistant Program Director. He joined KTAR in 2008. Some of the issues he’s most passionate about include public safety, border security, housing and the economy. How they all come together and play out in the Valley fascinates and inspires him daily. He graduated from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication in 2004 with his B.A. in Broadcasting. Joe has a passion for learning about what interests you. When he’s not thinking about what’s coming up on the show he loves listening to podcasts, he’s completed two marathons, loves his cat (Kelly Papowski) and visiting his family in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
