PHOENIX — After nearly four years of construction, the Westin Tempe has opened in the East Valley city’s downtown district on Seventh Street between Mill Avenue and Myrtle Street.

It marks Tempe’s largest new hotel opening in nearly four decades, according to a press release, featuring 18 stories with 290 guest rooms and suites.

The full-service hotel has 21,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space, along with three dining concepts including a restaurant offering a contemporary take on Southwestern cuisine, the Valley’s highest open-air rooftop bar and lounge as well as a relaxed, quick-service bistro with grab-and-go options and retail merchandise.

Guests can book their stays online.

“Our brand-new hotel will fill a niche in the market for travelers who are looking not only for an elevated experience, but a premium wellness hotel brand that will empower them to control and enhance their well-being while traveling,” Patti Hunt, the hotel’s general manager, said in the release.

“With The Westin Tempe’s gorgeous biophilic design, numerous dining destinations including the highest rooftop bar in the Valley, first-class meeting and event spaces and direct access to all that downtown Tempe has to offer, we look forward to being the optimal retreat for leisure guests and business professionals alike.”

Groundbreaking for the hotel took place back in February 2018.
