Vice President Mike Pence to host event in Arizona on Thursday

Oct 3, 2020, 10:44 AM | Updated: Oct 5, 2020, 7:15 pm

PHOENIX — Vice President Mike Pence is returning to Arizona on Thursday to host an event in Peoria.

The event will take place at 2:30 p.m. at TYR Tactical near the intersection of Olive Ave. and 91st Avenue. The doors open at 12 p.m. and close at 2 p.m.

He last visited Arizona in September when he made two campaign stops.

The visit comes as President Donald Trump is currently at a military hospital for treatment after testing positive for COVID-19 on Friday.

While several others in the White House also tested positive after Trump’s diagnosis, Pence tested negative for COVID-19.

Trump was scheduled to speak Monday in Tucson and Tuesday in Flagstaff prior to the positive test.

Trump has appeared in Arizona five times this year, a state considered to be a battleground for the upcoming election.

Democratic challenger Joe Biden, who has been leading Trump in Arizona in recent polling, and running mate Kamala Harris plan to visit Arizona on Thursday as well for the first time this election cycle.

Biden and Harris have not released any details about where they will visit or what type of event will be held.
