Valley chain offering free car washes for donations to fallen officer’s family

PHOENIX — Cobblestone Auto Spa is teaming up with the Police Officers of Scottsdale Association to raise money Monday in honor of fallen Salt River Officer Jair Cabrera.

The 37-year-old officer was shot and killed during a traffic stop near Pima and Chaparral roads in Scottsdale, Ariz., in the early hours of Saturday, May 24.

In exchange for a donation, you can get a free car wash or $10 off an upgraded wash. Cobblestone says 100 percent of proceeds will benefit Cabrera’s family.

Donations are accepted at the following Cobblestone locations:

• Tempe: Baseline Road and Kyrene roads
• Tempe: Elliot Road, east of Interstate 10
• Gilbert: Val Vista Drive, south of the US 60
• Scottsdale: Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard and Loop 101
• Chandler: Alma School and Germann roads
• Mesa: Signal Butte Road, south of the US 60
• Surprise: Bell Road, west of Grand Avenue
• North Phoenix (Express Wash only): Greenway Road, west of the SR 51 freeway
• Phoenix (Express Wash only): 7th Street, north of Dunlap Avenue
• Phoenix/Paradise Valley: Bell Road, east of the SR 51 freeway
• Cave Creek: Tatum Boulevard and Cave Creek Road
