PHOENIX — A man accused of stabbing his significant other during an altercation in Tucson last week was arrested in Mesa by U.S. Marshals on Wednesday, according to authorities.

Police say Larry Bagby fled Tucson shortly after the altercation on Feb. 26 which resulted in his significant other being stabbed in the head and arm with a kitchen knife. The victim was seriously injured but survived, according to authorities.

An arrest warrant was issued for Bagby on Monday, with investigators learning he was possibly hiding in Mesa.

U.S. Marshals located a vehicle belonging to Bagby on Wednesday in Mesa and observed the man entering the vehicle and leaving the area, according to a press release.

Bagby’s vehicle was safely immobilized and he was taken into custody and booked into the Mesa City Jail on attempted first-degree murder and domestic violence charges.

He is awaiting extradition back to Tucson.
