Suspect in hospital after shootings in Phoenix Friday night

PHOENIX — A suspect is being treated at a hospital after allegedly shooting three people near 36th Street and McDowell Road on Friday night.

According to police, officers responded to a shooting call at a business in the area around 9:10 p.m.

Upon arrival, police found four men with injuries.

Three of the men had suffered gunshot wounds. All three were taken to a nearby hospital. Their injuries are not considered life-threatening.

A fourth man who was injured by debris from the shooting was treated at the scene.

According to police, a male suspect entered the business and began firing a handgun. He then fled the area in a vehicle and ran a red light near 44th Street and Campbell Avenue causing a collision with two other vehicles. The suspect’s vehicle rolled over.

The suspect was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The drivers of the other vehicles involved in the collision were also transported to local hospitals, both with non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect was receiving treatment at the hospital on Saturday afternoon.

Once he is released from medical care, he will be booked on several felony charges.

Police have not released the suspect’s name.
