PHOENIX – A metro Phoenix man who went missing nearly a week ago and triggered a Silver Alert was found dead Wednesday, authorities said.

Charles Cohen, 78, was located in his car, close to his home in the area of Cave Creek and School House roads, the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office said.

Cohen had last been seen around 11:30 a.m. Friday; the alert was issued Sunday.

The sheriff’s office said they were told Cohen drove away from the house to go the gym, but his workout clothes were left behind.

There were no signs of foul play when he was found, MCSO said, and detectives are investigating.

No other details were made available.
