PHOENIX — Stream Data Centers acquired a 418,000-square-foot facility on 157 acres of land in Goodyear, the company announced Friday.

“Stream Data Centers’ confidence and investment into the Goodyear market will provide high-end jobs and innovative cloud-based technology solutions for years to come,” Goodyear Mayor Georgia Lord said in a press release.

“We are very excited to welcome another best-in-class company to our rapidly expanding cluster of high tech businesses. We are thankful for their commitment to Goodyear and foresee a bright future ahead.”

Stream Data Centers is an industry leader in providing data center solutions with over 2.5 million square feet of data center space across the country.

The company intends to establish a data center campus for hyperscale and enterprise customers in the Valley with an expansion up to 2 million square feet, according to the release.

“The Phoenix market has quickly emerged as one of the top destinations in the western U.S. for enterprise and cloud companies,” Robert Kennedy, co-managing partner of Stream Data Centers said in the release.

“A pro business environment with a great sales tax incentive program, low risk of natural disaster and low latency to major markets on the west coast, midwest and Texas have fueled tremendous growth for this market.

“We look forward to establishing a major campus and long-term relationship with Goodyear, APS and the greater Phoenix region.”

Stream plans to redevelop the current facility so that it will be able to contain approximately 50 megawatts (MW) of critical load and be ready for customers by the first quarter of 2020, according to the release.

The company will also dedicate land for an onsite substation with ultimate power capacity of 350 MW that will be constructed by Arizona Public Service Electric Company (APS).

According to AZ Big Media, Fortune 500 companies make up 80 percent of Stream Data Centers’ customers.
