PHOENIX — The Scottsdale Police Department concluded its investigation Thursday into dossier allegations against school board member and former president Jann-Michael Greenberg, saying no crimes were committed.

Greenburg was accused of distributing a dossier on some parents, including photos and personal finances.

Superintendent Scott Menzel in a prior statement said the private dossier was allegedly created and maintained in publicly accessible Google drive folders by the father of Greenburg “and shared by the latter.”

Scottsdale Police said it was determined the drive contained opensource and/or public documents and therefore no criminal conduct was committed that would be under the jurisdiction of the department.

The district also initiated its own independent forensic investigation to see if any school resources were used to create, maintain or modify the alleged dossier.

Greenburg, a business executive and attorney, was removed from his role as president of the board in a 4-1 vote during a special meeting on Nov. 15 and replaced by Patty Beckman on an interim basis until the end of Greenburg’s term.

Greenburg was the only no vote, saying during the meeting that he strongly supported the investigations.

“There appear to be bad actors involved and I am confident our law enforcement professionals will quickly resolve these issues,” Greenburg said at the special meeting. “Social media in today’s political environment can cloud judgment and generate fear that can cause all of us to react hastily as I believe has occurred here.

“I do believe that we do not have all the facts and without all the facts we cannot make a decision that is in the best interest of the district.”

Board members Zach Lindsay, Dr. Libby Hart-Wells and Beckman at the meeting called for Greenburg to resign.

Scottsdale Police said it has briefed the FBI and Arizona Attorney General’s Office and provided both a copy of the investigation for review to determine if any criminal acts might fall under their jurisdictions.

The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office was also briefed on the investigation, Scottsdale Police said.
