PHOENIX — Scottsdale police have arrested three more suspects linked to the protests and riots in Scottsdale in late May.

That brings the total to 47 charged with crimes related to the violence that erupted at the Scottsdale Fashion Square on May 30 and 31.

All three people arrested are Valley residents, according to police.

Two of the arrests, which were announced Friday, were related to theft.

Eric Robles, 22, was accused of trafficking stolen property and possessing stolen property. Police said stolen merchandise was found when investigating.

Robert Rocha, 18, was arrested on suspicion of burglary, trafficking stolen property and theft.

The third person, 28-year-old Aaron Medina, allegedly drove through the intersection at Scottsdale and Camelback roads outside the mall while taunting officers. He did this several times, according to police, and did not listen to orders to stop.

He later fled from officers on a closed street, driving in the wrong direction.

Medina was arrested on charges of felony flight, failing to stop for a police officer, reckless driving, endangerment, criminal trespassing, disorderly conduct, and unlawful assembly.

Urban Outfitters, the Apple Store and Neiman Marcus were among the stores that sustained damage during the unrest the night of May 30.

The Fashion Square closed after the incident and didn’t reopen until June 10.

Sgt. Ben Hoster said in an email the department was still following up evidence and tips in the case “to bring those responsible for criminal acts to justice.”

We want to hear from you.
