PHOENIX — Hundreds of volunteers joined the Salvation Army to prepare a Christmas feast to feed the Valley’s hungry.
“Volunteers have been working diligently to make this dinner available and festive for 5,500 of our closest friends,” said Salvation Army Major John Brackenbury. “It’s a feast for everyone, not just the homeless and at-risk population. We have families who come, people who don’t want to be alone on the holiday come and celebrate here.”
The Dec. 25 Christmas dinner is a yearly event being held at the Phoenix Convention Center in downtown Phoenix. Guests will enjoy entertainment, games, free long distance calls, haircuts, new toys for children and much more. Santa Claus will also be on hand, picture ready for the little ones.
Doors open at 9:30 a.m. Dinner will be served starting at 11:30 a.m.
