PHOENIX — The Arizona Cardinals go international for a home game, traveling to Mexico City for a Monday night showdown against the San Francisco 49ers.

Arizona Sports host and Cardinals radio personality Ron Wolfley believes there’s one key that trumps all others if Arizona is to move to 5-6.

“They have to win the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball,” Wolfley told KTAR News 92.3 FM’s The Mike Broomhead Show on Monday. “The Niners are one of the most physical teams in the National Football League on both sides of the ball.”

The Cardinals are hoping for similar success against the Niners as last year, when they beat San Francisco in both meetings.

Backup quarterback Colt McCoy, expected to lead Arizona on Monday with Kyler Murray nursing a hamstring injury, started in one of those wins. It was a game where the Cardinals dominated at the line, outgaining San Francisco 437-337 in a 31-17 victory.

This year’s Niners team is a perfect 3-0 in divisional games, most recently beating the Los Angeles Rams on Oct. 30.

Wolfley believes it’ll take more than just success at the line to defeat San Francisco.

“If I had to pick a second key to this game, No. 2 would be don’t beat yourself and that means you need to have fundamentally sound on special teams,” Wolfley said.

“You’ve got to have fundamentally sound units and Jeff Rodgers, the special teams coordinator for the Arizona Cardinals, does a great job of having his guys ready to go. It’s a huge part of what we’re going to see here tonight.”

Listen to all the game action at 6:15 p.m. on Arizona’s Sports Station.
