PHOENIX — Precipitation fell throughout Arizona on Sunday morning with rain and hail in the Valley and snow showers in Flagstaff and Payson.

According to the National Weather Service, the Phoenix area received just under a half inch of rain through 10:00 a.m.

The average monthly rainfall for Phoenix in the month of January is .7 inches.

Forecasts call for continued chance of rain through Tuesday before sunny skies are set to return on Wednesday.

Hail was seen as far east as San Tan Valley and south into Gilbert.

Snow showers blanketed the northern part of the state in Flagstaff, Payson and Grand Canyon Village.

Snowbowl in Flagstaff reported 8 inches of snow over the past 24 hours as skiers hit the slopes, selling out the mountain on both Saturday and Sunday.
