PHOENIX — Gov. Doug Ducey’s “Stay Home, Stay Healthy, Stay Connected” executive order is being heeded by a majority of Arizona voters, according to polling data released Tuesday.

Data collected by Phoenix-based research firm OH Predictive Insights found that 82% of likely voters in Arizona are following Ducey’s order while 16% are not.

Of the respondents, 12% claimed they were not leaving their homes for any reason and 45% said they were extremely concerned about the spread of coronavirus in Arizona — up from just 17% in March.

Only 3% of likely voters said they had not altered their day-to-day lives since the order had been implemented.

OH Predictive Insights’ polling data was collected by conducting 600 phone surveys April 7-8 with Arizonans likely to vote in the 2020 general election.

Ducey’s executive order took effect March 31 and encourages all residents to stay in their homes except when obtaining essentials.

Unless extended, the stay-at-home order will remain in effect until April 30.

The research firm also found Ducey to have a 59% approval rating regarding his handling of the coronavirus outbreak, with 24% of respondents strongly approving of his approach.

The polling shows the Arizona Department of Health services having slightly higher approval at 61%.

Arizona likely voters were found to be less favorable of President Donald Trump’s approach to the COVID-19 outbreak with 46% approving of his efforts.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention received a much higher approval rating of 75%, according to the data.
